For our new members and for those who may have missed the initial announcement, I have established a matching grant program for the Foundation Endowment Fund.  This Fund was set up several years ago to provide a permanent source of income to assure the operation of the museum in perpetuity.  Additions to the Fund have been sporadic and not sufficient to accomplish the stated goal.  Therefore, I will match dollar for dollar all donations you make to the Endowment Fund which are received at the museum on or before December 1, 2002.

I have decided to improve my offer.  Several folks mentioned that they would like to make a contribution spread over two years.  Therefore, for those who make a pledge this year, and who make a partial contribution before December 1, 2002, I will match your contribution this year and next year through December 1, 2003.

The museum that Joe Moller together with many others created so many years ago has become a very special place for me.  I’m sure it has become special for everyone who has experienced a visit there.  It is my hope that it will serve forever as a living testimony to the courage and sacrifice of the warriors of the 390th Bomb Group.  That is why I am supporting this program.

We can not lose sight of the fact that donations are critical to support the day to day operation of the museum.  We must continue to fund current operations while the Endowment Fund grows to the level necessary to do that job.  It is my hope that all of you who are able will make additional donations to this special fund.
