President’s Message

Summer, 2002

Our first annual Foundation gathering was held at the Museum on June 22, and was a great success! Thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible, both board members, museum staff, and volunteers. Special thanks go to Jim and Mary Truitt, their hard work and sponsorship made this event a reality. We will try and learn from this event and make our next one even more successful.

The 390th Veteran’s Association reunion will be in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in September. Descendant members of the Foundation should have received their information packet, and are encouraged to attend. For the first time, the Foundation will have a general membership meeting, open to all. This meeting will take the place of the “descendants” meetings of previous reunions. The board felt that this meeting should be open to anyone interested in the 390th Memorial Museum Foundation.

As a reminder to everyone – the matching endowment fund program that was generously set up by Dorothy Moller is in effect through December 1 of this year. Any funds donated, or pledged this year – will be matched by Dorothy. I encourage everyone to consider participating in this important effort. This drive is not solely for those who can contribute at a very substantial level - any contribution is deeply appreciated, regardless of the amount!
