Second Annual Reunion Report
The 2nd Annual Membership Reunion of the 390th Memorial Museum Foundation was held June 5th-7th, 2003. Seventy-two were in attendance for the weekend activities. The selection of activities included golf at the Fred Enke course, a tour through the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block and a combination tour of Sabino Canyon and Colossal Cave. Volunteer Mike Neidich accompanied the Art Tour group. Volunteer Fred Sachs accompanied the Canyon/Cave group and Museum Director Tom Drugan followed the golfers. Pictures were taken throughout the day and were shown at the Museum throughout Saturday. Saturday was dedicated to the Museum. We invited five veterans to give short talks and afterwards a question and answer session. The talks were well attended. The banquet Saturday night was a very casual western buffet. My husband, Jim, and I again sponsored the hospitality suite two nights. The tips for drinks for both nights totaled $325 and were donated to the Museum general fund. We were honored to have 22 veterans join us for the festivities. We want to thank Tom Drugan for designing the T-shirts, Tom Drugan and Frank Drain for designing the museum pins and Cori Tennyson for all her computer skills and general assistance. The Clarion Hotel received high marks and we plan to use the facility once again next year. Jim and I look forward to the 3rd Annual Membership Reunion to be held April 15th – 17th, 2004. We hope to see a large enthusiastic group next year to enjoy Tucson and the Museum. Mary and Jim Truitt |
