President’s Message
by Frank Drain
Winter, 2002-2003
2002 was a very successful year for the Foundation in many respects. Contributions by many of you, combined with Dorothy Moller’s matching program, enabled our Endowment Fund to grow by a substantial amount during the year. Our first annual Museum gathering in June was probably even more successful than we had originally hoped. We are looking forward to an exciting and even more successful 2003! The following are some of the projects that we will be working on during the upcoming year:
-
Host our 2nd annual Museum Event, building on the success of the first gathering last year in Tucson.
-
Continue to develop our Internet web site (www.390th.org), adding additional information, more photos, and other features to our web site.
-
Selling 390th related merchandise over the web. This is an opportunity that we have chosen to focus on during 2003 to increase our income flow while at the same time communicating the story of the 390th through the selling of books and other 390th items.
-
390th Veteran’s reunion this fall will be in Northern Kentucky (very close to Cincinnati). As always, this is an ideal opportunity to gather with our 390th Veterans.
-
Initial planning has just started for an appropriate POW memorial, in conjunction with the 390th Veteran’s Association.
-
Seek out appropriate fund raising opportunities, including continuing to grow our Endowment Fund.
-
Produce new brochures for distribution and develop AAA guidebook listing. Our supply of the old brochures is exhausted and we are not currently listed in the Tucson area AAA guidebook.
Further information will be forthcoming through the BULLETIN, individual mailings, and via our web site. Thanks to all of you who made this past year so successful!
