Enhanced “Buck” Dunn Display

The Hewitt “Buck” Dunn plaque has been relocated from the remote corner of the museum to the entrance lobby and the display expanded.

“Buck” flew an 8th Air Force record of 104 missions. All of his missions are tabulated along side the plaque, with his picture with  these relative comments:

After surviving his required combat tour
of 30 missions (with 8th AF suffering the highest
casualties of any major combat group).
“Buck” Dunn chose to continue, stating:

“The War is not over Yet”

(With 104 combat missions the chance of being
killed was 74% plus 90% of being a POW -
per actual 390th Bomb Group statistics)
