Just a note to sy Hi to my friends at the 390th Museum. I served as a part time docent when we wintered at Green Valley several years ago. Hoe you are continuing the good work and that some of my old friends are still active. we currently live in a retirement community here in Ames, IA
This is the first time I have seen this site. Mr grandfather Frank Langan flew with the 571st. I have a jacket he painted himself, and a model complete with fighter escort, also painted to specific detail. He unfortunately isn’t with us anymore but I know he was a proud man and was a member here. It is nice to see everything here and know that the men here and what they did WILL NOT be forgotten.
Thanks for all the hard work that has gone into the making of this site, and keep up the great work!
I love you gran-dad!
Great Site My father Bernard Hayward was pilot of “My Bonnie/Maiden Prayer/Starduster
He passed in March 2005. I have been to the Museum a few times. While I was living on the west coast. It is a moving experiance, especially the wall of signatures.
My father (Clarence Medeck) flue in the “Pistol Packin Mamma/ Betty Boop”. He was the radio operator/waist gunner. He flew all 25 missins and was wounded by flack. We still have the piece of flack. He has left us now, and is missed very much.
This is my first time to this site and I have not seen it all yet. But I will shortly.
