What a great web site. I have not visited the museum yet, and I am planning on duing so. My father just passed away Dec. 21st, 2009. He was part of the 390th. William Klaus was part of the 30th Station Complement. He was very involved with communications, taking down and putting up communication lines at the base and fixing and repairing radios, etc. After the war he worked for RCA Global Communications, till he retired. He has told me many stories.
My dads funeral was so moving, the rifle salute and the playing of taps, the flag presentation to my mom, who was also in the war, stationed in Hawaii after the bombing, she was a WAV. Thank you all for what you do. I pray for the few vets that are left from World War II.
I saw the museum last week, and was unable to walk out of the 390th exhibit with dry eyes. I’m active duty army, three tours to Iraq, and have an even deeper sense of humility with the things past generations of servicemembers have endured. Would like to know if the honor guard positions for the reunion’s flag presentation are filled from Davis-Monthan or if volunteers are accepted. Would also like to get in contact with any crew member of G.I. Wonder. I would like to ask for the honor of naming my HMMWV on my next deployment after that aircraft. Any information on these two requests can be directed to david.marlow@us.army.mil. Thank you for your service, and there are a lot of us current guys who really hope we’re living up to the legacy you older guys handed down to us.
I was in 2005, it´s one of the best museum in the world…it´s wonderful place, i remember when i was child and i wanted to fly….it’s nice to remember those who fought for our freedom.
Does somebody knows if Mike Arnao, son of Charles C.Jr ARNAO,337876 navigator is 390th association member ?
Since some years, I’m waiting informations from him about his father, to help me writing
SEQUATCHIEE II odissey ?
Let me know….Thank you !

Very interesting. Just happened upon this information. I was a ball turret gunner on B-17 with 390th BG 569th Sqd. shot down over Hamburg Dec. 30 1944. Came across Moosburg article. Remembered that I was there & can verify events as stated, also saw my signature & home town on the german flag.
This is a re-publish of my query of March, 1999, due to change in my email. I’m still interested, although I realize there are few are still around. Thanks.
Would like to hear from anyone in crew of either “Bad Penny” or “Geronimo”, or anyone else in 390th between Dec ‘43 and April ‘44 who might recognize my name.
My Grandfathers name is Lewis Jones Caulk and he was a pilot of the Pistol Packin’ Mama and the Shady Lady. Im looking for any information i can possibly find about him and his service. If you can help please let me know where i can obtain any information.
Yes a very great book this “blue book”! I’have it since some years.
I suppose your grand father was in the 390th ? what unit ?
Did you keep informations not published ?
Have a great day !
