This is the first time I have seen this site. Mr grandfather Frank Langan flew with the 571st. I have a jacket he painted himself, and a model complete with fighter escort, also painted to specific detail. He unfortunately isn't with us anymore but I know he was a proud man and was a member here. It is nice to see everything here and know that the men here and what they did WILL NOT be forgotten.
Thanks for all the hard work that has gone into the making of this site, and keep up the great work!
I love you gran-dad!

Great Site My father Bernard Hayward was pilot of "My Bonnie/Maiden Prayer/Starduster
He passed in March 2005. I have been to the Museum a few times. While I was living on the west coast. It is a moving experiance, especially the wall of signatures.

My father (Clarence Medeck) flue in the "Pistol Packin Mamma/ Betty Boop". He was the radio operator/waist gunner. He flew all 25 missins and was wounded by flack. We still have the piece of flack. He has left us now, and is missed very much.
This is my first time to this site and I have not seen it all yet. But I will shortly.

What a great web site. I have not visited the museum yet, and I am planning on duing so. My father just passed away Dec. 21st, 2009. He was part of the 390th. William Klaus was part of the 30th Station Complement. He was very involved with communications, taking down and putting up communication lines at the base and fixing and repairing radios, etc. After the war he worked for RCA Global Communications, till he retired. He has told me many stories.
My dads funeral was so moving, the rifle salute and the playing of taps, the flag presentation to my mom, who was also in the war, stationed in Hawaii after the bombing, she was a WAV. Thank you all for what you do. I pray for the few vets that are left from World War II.

I saw the museum last week, and was unable to walk out of the 390th exhibit with dry eyes. I'm active duty army, three tours to Iraq, and have an even deeper sense of humility with the things past generations of servicemembers have endured. Would like to know if the honor guard positions for the reunion's flag presentation are filled from Davis-Monthan or if volunteers are accepted. Would also like to get in contact with any crew member of G.I. Wonder. I would like to ask for the honor of naming my HMMWV on my next deployment after that aircraft. Any information on these two requests can be directed to david.marlow@us.army.mil. Thank you for your service, and there are a lot of us current guys who really hope we're living up to the legacy you older guys handed down to us.
